UNFORGETTABLE CHRISTMAS DRINK RECIPES

UNFORGETTABLE CHRISTMAS DRINK RECIPES

How have you prepared for the Christmas party with your family? Let WANA Beverage tell you some special drink recipes for Christmas this year through this blog!

1.Old-fashion Eggnog:

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, gradually add ½ cup cold milk to cornstarch and combine. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, combine eggs, sugar, and salt. With wire whisk, beat until blended.
  3. In heavy 4-quart saucepan, heat 4 cups milk to simmer. Add the milk-cornstarch mixture. Stir and return to a simmer on medium-low.
  4. Gradually add heated milk mixture into the egg mixture, ½ cup at a time, whisking constantly. Once 75% of the milk has been transferred, pour all the egg-and-milk mixture into the original pot, and stir. Heat on medium-low, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes or until custard slightly thickens and coats the back of a spoon well.
  5. Pour custard into large bowl. Stir in brandy or rum, vanilla extract, ground nutmeg, and remaining cold milk. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 3 hours.
  6. In a small bowl with mixer at medium speed, beat heavy or whipping cream until soft peaks form. With wire whisk, gently fold whipped cream into custard mixture.
  7. Pour eggnog into chilled 5-quart punch bowl. Sprinkle with extra nutmeg for garnish.

2. Pumpkin Martini

Celebrate the flavors of fall with a deliciously festive pumpkin martini. Made with vodka or whiskey (your choice!), pumpkin liqueur and Irish cream, it’s the smooth, sweet and slightly spicy pumpkin cocktail we’ll be sippin’ on all season.

Directions

  1. In cocktail shaker, combine vodka or whiskey, pumpkin liqueur and Irish cream.
  2. Add ice and shake until very cold, at least 1 minute.
  3. Strain into chilled martini glass. Top with freshly grated nutmeg.

3. Sparkling Pomegranate Cocktail:

Directions

  1. Fill an ice cube tray with pomegranate juice leaving about 1/8 inch at the top. Freeze until solid.
  2. For each serving, fill a highball glass with a few pomegranate ice cubes and pomegranate arils. Top with sparkling wine and a fresh rosemary sprig, if desired.

4. Boozy Grinch Punch:

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large pitcher combine Kool-Aid and water.
  2. In a large punch bowl, combine ice, kool-aid, soda, pineapple juice, vodka, and ginger ale.
  3. Use a lime wedge to rim glasses and dip in sanding sugar to coat. Pour punch into glasses to serve.

5. Cinnamon Rosemary Old Fashion:

Instructions

  1. Start with making the simple syrup. (½ cup honey, ½ cup water, 3 cinnamon sticks, 6 sprigs rosemary). In a small saucepan, combine honey, water, rosemary sprigs, and cinnamon sticks over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring frequently until honey has dissolved into water. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Once cool, remove rosemary and cinnamon sticks and transfer to an airtight container.
  2. When ready to make a cocktail, add 4 teaspoons of the cinnamon rosemary simple syrup and 3 dashes of bitters to an Old Fashioned glass. Swirl syrup and bitters around in glass. Add bourbon, ice, orange peel, and stir. Store extra simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

6. Spiked Hot Chocolate:

With the same rich flavor you remembered as a kid, and a splash of bourbon or rum to add an elegant adult touch, all  you’ll need is a toasty, gooey marshmallow and you have a warming winter drink that doubles as a classic cocktail recipe.

Directions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine cocoa powder and granulated sugar.
  2. Whisk in 1½ cups milk until fully incorporated (mixture will be a thick paste).
  3. Gradually whisk in remaining 6½ cups milk. Add cinnamon sticks and bring to a simmer, stirring occasionally. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until you can smell the cinnamon, 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Add chocolate and whisk until melted. Strain into a second pot, then stir in bourbon. Serve topped with toasted marshmallows.
