WANA Joins Gaia Nature Conservation to Restore Dong Nai Forest Ecosystem
On August 12, 2023, WANA Beverage Company Limited, in partnership with Gaia Nature Conservation Center, embarked on a meaningful reforestation project by planting 450 native trees at the Dong Nai Nature and Culture Reserve. The WANA team enthusiastically contributed to rejuvenating 1.5 hectares of degraded forest, supporting climate resilience, biodiversity conservation, and the recovery of essential watershed ecosystems in southern Vietnam.

A Day of Nature, Purpose, and Connection
During the tree-planting activity, the WANA team immersed themselves in the rich natural beauty of Dong Nai. They explored its verdant landscapes and visited historical sites that carry cultural significance in the region. The experience deepened their appreciation for nature and reinforced their commitment to environmental stewardship.
WANA has achieved impressive success in the beverage sector, but our mission goes beyond business growth. We are dedicated to giving back to the community and safeguarding the environment. Recognizing the urgent need to address climate change, we teamed up with Gaia to green the forest and plant 450 native trees that will thrive for years to come.
Even the youngest members of the WANA family participated eagerly. Alongside their parents, children helped collect biodegradable seedling wraps, ensuring that the reforestation process remained eco-friendly from start to finish.

Planting for Diversity and Sustainability
WANA selected a wide range of indigenous species for this project—Bằng Lăng, Gõ Mật, Huỷnh, Dâu Da, Trắc Đen, Lim Xẹt, and Trâm. These include both large timber trees and fruit-bearing species that will provide food and shelter for local wildlife, contributing to the ecological richness of the area. Over the next four years, Gaia will nurture and monitor the forest, with the goal of maintaining a 70–85% survival rate. WANA will receive yearly updates, including images and growth data, showcasing the progress of the forest.
A Shared Vision for a Greener Future
“Our goal is to inspire every member of the WANA family to embrace a sense of responsibility for the community and the environment,” shared Mike Nguyen, CEO of WANA Beverage. “This tree-planting effort is one part of our broader mission to fight global warming and preserve Vietnam’s green heritage.”
Ms. Đỗ Thị Thanh Huyền, Founder and Director of Gaia Nature Conservation, added, “Tree planting may seem simple, but it’s a powerful tool in the fight against climate change. Forests protect us from natural disasters and sustain ecosystems. Gaia is proud to partner with WANA in restoring this vital watershed. The 450 trees we planted today will be cared for and monitored to ensure long-term value for nature and the community.”

A Journey That Sparks Lasting Impact
In the afternoon, WANA’s team ventured deeper into the tropical dry forest, visiting historical landmarks and observing unique plant species. They marveled at ancient trees like the massive Ko Nia. They passed fallen giants shaped by seasonal rains and learned about medicinal plants and high-value hardwoods. All the while, they breathed in the forest’s cool, revitalizing air. The day ended not just with memories but with a renewed sense of purpose.
WANA believes this impactful journey is just the beginning. We are committed to planting more trees and contributing to a greener Vietnam in the years to come.
